if a senior age group athlete cannot compete in the Norfolk Schools championships due to them wanting to compete in a higher standard competition elsewhere, such as the SEAA Championships then we would ask them to compete in the Anglian Schools Championships if they would like to be considered for the Norfolk Schools team for the English Schools Championships in July.
If a senior age group athlete competes at the Norfolk Schools Championships then it is fine for them to compete for their club in the Southern Athletics League on Saturday 15th June. They have in this situation competed in and supported one of our meetings in the leadup to ESAA Championships selection.

The English Schools AA has recently announced that the English Schools cross country championships, due to be held in Kent in March, have been cancelled. The Norfolk Schools cross country will not be held this year nor will the Anglian Schools championships. These cancellations are all due to Coronavirus pandemic.
If the situation improves it may be possible to hold the summer competitions.
The English Schools AA have just decided that this year`s English Schools track and field championships, due to be held in Manchester in July, have been cancelled.
It follows that it is very unlikely that the Norfolk Schools event due on June 6th and the Anglian Schools championships due on 13th June will be held this year.
Norfolk`s teams for the English Schools cross country championships due to be held at Sefton Park, Liverpool on Saturday 14th March are provisional. Final selection will be dependent on the athlete`s schools having paid their subscription to the Norfolk Schools AA. The deadline is 28th February.

It is worth noting that Norfolk may well be able to take 32 athletes to the English Schools championships in July in Birmingham. The Norfolk Schools cross country will be held on Tuesday 24th January. As a real treat for Norfolk athletes the venue will be the Royal Norfolk Showground.. The courses used will be similar to those to be used for the English Schools event in March The Anglian Schools cross country championships will be at Northampton on Saturday 4th February with the English Schools championships being held at the Royal Norfolk Showground in Norwich on Saturday 18th March.

The AGM of the Norfolk Schools AA will be held at the Management Suite, Thorpe St Andrew School on Monday 14th December at 4.30pm.
Following their success at the English Schools championships at Gateshead in July, the senior boys relay team have been nominated for one of the Norfolk Sports Awards. The team consisting of Dominic Burnham, Elliott Holland. Jack Deraden and Ben Matsuka Williams have been nominated for the Norfolk team of the year award. The awards evening for presentations will be held at the Forum in Norwich on Wednesday 11th November.

In my view athletics hasn't received the sort of publicity that it deserves. This is in the middle of a busy athletics season. In the UK championships at Birmingham recently the BBC, for all their coverage of the event, managed to miss out almost all of the local athletes involved.
The English Schools T & F championships will be at Birmingham this weekend.
